freeOK概要:Just over 40 years ago, marriage in China was arranged by the state. Romantic love was seen as a capitalist concept and was not allowed during this period. Wedding photography (if available) includes a black and white passport photo of the couple (wearing woolen clothing) as proof of their marriage. Now, China has fallen in love with love, with its explosive wedding industry worth $80 billion and showing an upward trend. Pre marital photography is one of the most important and interesting parts of this industry. Every couple who get married in China will participate in pre wedding photography. It involves several changes in clothing and background, and you can become a character in any fantasy you choose. For the most exotic wedding, couples have to pay up to 250000 Australian dollars. Pre marital photography has become an important national ritual. They are proof of marriage, but now they are also proof of love, romance, freedom, status, money, and the New China Dream. As a foreigner who has been living in Shanghai for a long time, pro China photographer Olivia Mar tin McGuire is attracted by the construction of dreams in this thriving photography world. Once she delved deeper into this new tradition, she discovered a unique window into understanding China. One reveals a dream country, a rapidly prosperous country, and a country that reconstructs its recent past traumas through its own lens. China Love takes us on a wild journey, delving into the warmth of Chinese family networks, into the hearts of our characters, into their personal dreams, and understanding the reasons and sources behind these desires. This project explores the new status that China, as a globalized country, has gained from its restrictive and highly traditional past through the window of its thriving wedding industry, and asks what the New Chinese Dream is in terms of love.
