In this gripping documentary, award-winning Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri leads us beyond cold statistics and silent news stories, facing the harsh reality and the incredible courage exhibited by war victims. 33 Days was filmed during the Israeli war against Lebanon in the summer of 2006 and tells the true story of four people: a theater director who collaborates with children seeking refuge in the theater after their house was destroyed, a frontline reporter from an underground television station, a rescue worker coordinating emergency rescue efforts for thousands of displaced persons, and a news station director who tries to take care of her newborn amidst the surrounding destruction and chaos. Through their creativity and courage, this movie tells some unknown stories about the survivors of Beirut. 33 Days won a special tribute award at the 2007 Gaza International Film Festival in Palestine.
