freeOK概要:Alan Rudolph's' The Modern Man 'is a wonderful, entertaining, and twisted film set in 1920s Paris, France. The most striking story is the triangular relationship between Nick, his runaway wife, and a ruthless businessman seeking a higher social status. Nick (Keith Carradine) and Rachel (Linda Fiorentino) got married a few years ago, and she dissolved her marriage. A few years later, she appeared in the arms of Bertram Stone (John Lonne). As he dealt with her reproduction, he was also persuaded by a gallery owner Valentine (Genevieve Boujood) who acted suspiciously to make a fake art piece. As a favor to the wealthy Natalie Deville (played by Geraldine Chaplin), his friend Oiseau (played by Wallace Shawn) He often tells Nick that they should go to a new city called Hollywood in search of wealth, while Ernest Hemingway (played by Kevin J. O'Connor) wanders around in the cynicism of alcoholism and makes strange observations. This story, just like the period of action, is surreal. One of the scenes is the resurrection of deceased characters from their graves, such as Houdini, Strait Jack, Chain, and so on. The relationship between Nick and Rachel is the core of the story: Nick doesn't want to trust Rachel because of her actions, but all of his actions throughout the movie are the result of Rachel. When he painted the fake, he thought of Rachel's beauty and put his feelings on the canvas. He loves her, but is struggling with the possibility that if he opens his heart to her again, she may be heartbroken again. When he slapped her in front of Stone, you could see this conflict, but he immediately became very sorry. Should he love her or should he back down? When they were having sex on the bathroom floor and her husband was downstairs, he clearly did so. The entire cast is great, but the best performance comes from Ao, who I think is one of the most underestimated actors. If you want to participate in the Paris Night Movie Marathon, or just for fun, this is a great movie.
